Why are tutu’s so expensive? Is a common question I am asked.  The answer is, if you take into consideration the amount of time work and detail that goes into making a tutu you can start to understand.

To be able to give a set price for a classical tutu would be impossible as every tutu is made individually to the dancer and her needs.

Prices for a classical tutu, consisting of a panelled bodice with light boning and a 9 – 12 layered skirt could cost anything from £170 depending on size, choice of materials and decoration.

A tutu must fit perfectly to move with the dancer and she should not have to worry about fastenings coming undone or the tutu being too loose.

This is why measurements are such an important part of making a bespoke tutu.

Please feel free to ring me to make an appointment for me take measurements and to discuss colours and ideas you may have for your classical tutu.

If it is not convenient for you to come to visit me or you would simply prefer me to come to you then this can be arranged for a small additional charge to cover the cost of the journey.

Alternatively you may wish to take your own measurements completing the chart on my website and have your tutu made on a mail order basis then i can also cater for this option.

Should you choose this option please take extreme care as a tutu must fit like a glove.  If you need help with taking your measurements then please give me a call and i will talk you through it.

Once I have all the required measurements a calico toile of the tutu bodice will be made and fitted to the dancer, if you are ordering your tutu via mail order then this process would not be applicable hence why care should be taken when taking your measurements.

Tutu’s should complement the dancer in every way and are designed individually; no two of my tutus are ever the same.
